99.9% PURE COPPER JEWELRY

A note from Vera's Copper

Your Copper Will Last a Lifetime. Here's How.

Pure copper is a living metal. It naturally deepens, softens, and develops a rich patina from daily contact with your skin and the world around you. Some of my customers love that aged, timeworn look. Others prefer to keep their copper bright and glowing. Both are beautiful, and both are exactly right.

“What I love most about copper is that it keeps telling the story of the person who wears it. It never stays still, and that is part of its beauty.”

Care guide

How to clean your copper

When you want to brighten your piece, these are the three simple methods I recommend most. No matter which one you choose, always rinse well and dry your copper immediately.

Fastest

Lemon & Salt

Time: 30-60 seconds

Rub gently with a cut lemon dipped in salt, rinse well, and dry right away for the quickest brightening.

For heavier tarnish

White Vinegar & Salt

Time: 15-30 minutes

Let the piece soak briefly in white vinegar with a little salt, then rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.

Gentlest

Baking Soda & Lemon Paste

Time: A few careful passes

Make a soft paste and work it in gently with your fingers or a soft cloth. This is the method I prefer for engraved pieces.

The secret

Just wear it

Daily wear is one of the best ways to keep copper looking polished. Your natural skin oils help maintain its glow, while pieces left sitting in drawers tend to tarnish more quickly. Copper was made to be worn, touched, and lived in.

Everyday tip

If you love your copper bright, the simplest care routine is often the best one: put it on and let it become part of your day.

Protect your piece

What to keep away from your copper

  • Chlorine & Pools
  • Saltwater
  • Harsh Soaps
  • Perfume
  • Chemical Cleaners
  • Ultrasonic Cleaners
  • Bleach
  • Toothpaste

Please take your jewelry off before swimming. Chlorine and saltwater are especially hard on pure copper.

Good to know

About the green mark

A faint green mark on the skin is harmless. It is simply copper oxide, and in many ways it is one of the clearest signs that your piece is made from real copper. It washes away easily with soap and water.

Harmless and temporary

If it happens, there is nothing wrong with your jewelry and nothing wrong with your skin. It is just part of how pure copper behaves.

Store it well

Storing your copper

  • Keep each piece in a soft, dry cloth pouch.
  • For longer storage, place it in an airtight bag.
  • Store away from humidity and direct sunlight.
  • Keep copper separate from other metals so it stays cleaner and avoids scratching.
